When it comes to replicating third wave speciality coffee at home, there’s no cutting corners. This means you'll have to use a quality espresso machine for best results. That’s why Sage created a range of automatic and manual espresso coffee maker models that honour tradition and techniques that define the very fundamentals required for third wave speciality coffee.

The Sage is an unusual microwave. It’s fairly pricey considering it doesn’t include an oven and/or grill. And it looks good in all-silver, but it’s not the poshest looking microwave in town. Instead it differentiates itself with unusual controls designed for keen cooks. Interview by Hester Lacey (15 July 2011). "The Inventory: Heston Blumenthal". Financial Times . Retrieved 20 May 2013.Alongside the usual cook or defrost by time and weight it offers intelligent sensor cooking programs similar to those seen on high-end microwaves such as the Panasonic NN-CS894S and Panasonic NN-CF853W. You press the relevant smart button, depending on whether you want to cook or reheat, and then select from the on-screen menu of popular foods. The power level is set automatically and then it measures humidity released from the food and uses this to judge how long to cook it for. The results from the Sage by Heston Blumenthal The Oracle are fantastic. Careful temperature control and the flexible grinder lead to perfect taste every single time. Long coffees are strong and rich by default, while the frother brings out a sweetness in the milk that wouldn’t be possible if doing it manually. Blumenthal moved from the BBC to Channel 4 in March 2008, joining the channel's group of celebrity chefs which already included Jamie Oliver, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Gordon Ramsay. In January 2009 a three-part series of television programmes on Channel 4 covered his efforts to revamp the menu at a Little Chef motorway restaurant on the A303 road at Popham. [20] [21] The Little Chef group extended Blumenthal's menu to 12 branches but, in 2013, removed his dishes from all restaurants. [22] [23] In November 2012, Blumenthal fronted a television programme for Channel 4 entitled Heston's Fantastical Food and has also been part of a new 2014 series of Heston's Great British Food, again commissioned by Channel 4. [27] In 2020, Blumenthal appeared as a judge in the Channel 4 series 'Crazy Delicious' hosted by British comedian and TV presenter Jayde Adams, alongside chefs Niklas Ekstedt and Carla Hall. [28] In 2021, he participated as a judge in the French version of Top Chef, proposing a food pairing test. [29] In July 2022, Blumenthal appeared as a guest judge on the final episode of the Australian version of Masterchef. [30] Waitrose [ edit ] At that stage the Sage’s “a bit more” button was perfect. This zapped it for another 36 seconds. We did this a couple of times and the potato was cooked to perfection. It’s a clever way to ensure you don’t overcook food as it’s tempting when something’s not quite cooked to repeat the same program – which is usually overkill. Marsden, Sam (26 September 2013).
